It's eclipse season again! The Capricorn Lunar Eclipse (16th degree) arrives at 5:21 AM EDT on Tuesday, July 7. We will likely be feeling this energy toward the end of this week and into the middle of next week.

Aries - Whatever you're feeling subjectively about the competing pressures of home and family and of your career or life's work these days, please be aware that your Life is calling you to your true station. This probably won't happen all at once; with Pluto in your 10th House of career, you can expect a slow and steady climb to the top of the mountain. However, there will be sudden bursts of inspired climbing along the way, fueled by your willingness to let go of attachments (people, places, emotional patterns and possessions) that are slowing you down and making you heavier than you need to be. Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 10th House illuminates the course you're on and could spark a sudden and potentially major course change. Whatever your chosen field of endeavor, you are being called to lead by example. This becomes more than obvious in the next week or two. What also becomes obvious is the dedication and hard work required of you so that you are worthy of your leadership role.

Taurus - Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 9th House of belief systems, intuition and direct knowing brings a download of information that has the power to shift your worldview, if you let it in. You tend to change your mind slowly when you do change it, and that's OK -- before you apply a new paradigm to your life you want to know that it has been tried and tested and that there's a good chance it will bring you more of what you really want. One way of testing the new information pouring in this week and next is to apply it to an artistic, creative, romantic or child-related issue that has been your personal bugaboo for the last year and a half. Notice how this situation could transform if your belief systems allowed it to. Be aware of ways in which you're stuck believing that A, B, and C must all happen in order for D to appear in your life. What could change for you if you just made the conscious choice to do what it takes to erase those mouldy cause-and-effect programs from your psyche? Wisdom, not circumstance, is the only power that can free you from the prison of your programmed limitations. The great thing about this energy is that you don't even have to seek for wisdom -- you just have to recognize it when it comes knocking at your door.

Gemini - I'm becoming more and more convinced that abundance or manifestation is a process of subtraction, not addition. The consumerist programming is embedded so deeply in us that we unconsciously think that more abundance can only come when we attract what we don't have into our lives or when we go out and get what we need. But in fact everything your soul really needs is always there for you. The process of true manifestation begins with erasing the faulty programming that makes you blind to it! Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 8th House, the money axis of your chart, wants to bring this lesson home to you in a big way. Consciously cultivate the perspective this week that you (as a focal point of the infinite life stream) already have whatever you need. Your work is to expose and transform the deeply buried belief systems that tell you that you are incomplete and must be augmented by people, money, and possessions that exist outside of you. There is no outside of you! This eclipse helps you transform a belief about powerlessness and victimhood that your parents or ancestors passed down to you. It could also bring unexpected support from one of your parents in a home or property matter.

Cancer - I can't promise you the month beginning with last week's New Moon in your sign and ending with the July 21st solar eclipse in your sign will be an easy one. But I can guarantee you that this is a rare opportunity to rewrite the story of your time on this planet in a way that will change the trajectory of your life from here on out. The key elements of the story are, of course, you and the other. "Hell is the other," as Sartre famously put it. And this is what we are programmed to believe. Others let us down, betray us, and fall short of our expectations and sooner or later an emotionally sensitive Crab learns to avoid them and their unpleasant emotions. But there is another story you could write. One in which you hold no fixed expectations of the other person. One in which you see your emotionality and empathy as a guidance system and in which you know yourself to be flexible and responsive enough to your own intuition to know when to engage and when to shield yourself. Meditate on the crab this week -- the way it moves, its industriousness, its connection to water (emotions) and land (the material world). Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 7th House of relationships invites you to build on what you've learned about yourself in the last week. There is a way to change your mind about your own identity and qualities that will free you into a new realm of connection with the other.

Leo - It's so important to listen to your own intuition now. Other people can serve as a sounding board for your ideas, but no one outside of you can sense where you need to go the way you can. With the Sun, Mercury and Vesta all in your 12th House of the deep unconscious mind, you're picking up messages from your dreams, synchronistic occurrences and the other weird ways that the transpersonal Mind breaks through your programming. Not all of this will be pleasant and not all of it will be useful; your job now is to pay attention and practice pattern recognition. You have a heightened ability to tune in to what is important for you and you must respect that quality in yourself. Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 6th House of work, health and service helps to crystallize some of the scattered information you're receiving. You see how the work you've been doing (even the drudge work) has helped you to create a more realistic sense of your own power to change yourself, your circumstances, and the world around you. You also receive a blast of insight into your relationship with money. I wouldn't be surprised if you end up with a newfound and hard-won optimism that says you can indeed create the resources you need to reach your goals, no matter what other people may think or say about your methods.

Virgo - In the Transforming Fear into Power workshops we work a lot with the right brain/creative mind as the great untapped resource within that can help us shift out of identification with our problems and into hitherto undreamed-of solutions. With a lunar eclipse arriving at the beginning of next week in your 5th House of creativity, art, romance and childlike play, this is a good week to start experimenting with this premise. You have such a strong analytical mind, it's very tempting to resort to your rationality as the tool that you employ whenever you're challenged. But this is like trying to use a hammer to pound nails, paint your house and tune up your car engine. According to research cited in the wonderful little book Zero Limits, the conscious mind processes about 15 bits of information a second while the unconscious mind processes 15 million bits. When you draw, paint, move your body, listen to or make music -- or any other healthy activity that gets you out of your head and into a state of flow -- you access this incredible wealth of resources within you that is totally closed off when you're stuck in the repetitive loops of your monkey mind. Take your problems to the play room this week and watch them magically start to transform into opportunities for personal evolution.

Libra - You might be sick and tired of hearing about karmic closet cleaning and taking responsibility for your emotions, specifically the inherited emotional patterns bequeathed to you by your parents and their parents before them. But you only have a few more months of Saturn in your 12th House helping you (in his inimitable ponderous fashion) to unload the old baggage and compacted emotional trash you've been hauling around for the last thirty years or so. It behooves you to take advantage of this energy, because once Saturn moves into your sign in late October, it's your time to seriously step out into the world as the powerful co-creator you were born to be. The cleaner and lighter you are at that time, the more you'll be able to enjoy your role as power broker, catalyst and initiator -- not to mention the more good you'll be able to do. Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 4th House of home, family and emotional patterns sends a beautiful beam to Saturn, illuminating just how far you've come in your closet-cleaning work. Let go of the old and the outworn and take advantage of this powerful opportunity to rebuild your emotional foundations on the solid rock of your soul.

Scorpio - In his novel VALIS, written twenty-five years before the Matrix films hit theaters, Philip K. Dick postulates God as a benevolent living system of information (the Logos) that exists outside of time and space waiting for human beings willing to serve as carriers for its message of immortality, joy and freedom. Dick's meditation on gnosticism and artificial intelligence is actually eerily similar to A Course in Miracles, which was channeled around the same time Dick was writing VALIS, and to Terrence McKenna's theory of the Logos as the animating force in our Universe. I mention all of this because next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 3rd House of thoughts and language shows you how to take the next step in actually embodying and living the wisdom that is available to you at all times, rather than ratiocinating about it and continuing to live as if wisdom is something out there in another realm that has no real relationship to the everyday details of your life. A salient feature of both ACIM and Dick's vision in VALIS is that transcendence doesn't happen by journeying out of your life into a realm of love and light but rather by allowing the Divine to permeate you and speak through you right where you are now. Note: You can facilitate the flow of the Logos through your life by consciously aligning your thoughts and words with your ideal. Choosing to spend time with the people, books, and media that vibrate to your ideal will help this process immeasurably.

Sagittarius - Next Tuesday's eclipse in your 2nd House of income lights up the money axis of your chart. Eclipses tend to take processes that have been running beneath the surface of awareness and bring them out into the light of consciousness. The news you get now could concern a debt or partnership or could even involve a sudden influx of money in the form of an inheritance, royalty payment or the like. Whether the news you get seems "good" or "bad" this is an important moment for you. This eclipse sends a stellar beam to Saturn in your 10th House of career, indicating that the consciousness you gain about your money and ability to earn more of it are directly related to your career goals and the way you're applying yourself to them. With Saturn in your 10th House since late 2007, this is a time to objectively look at your life's work and notice what is working for you and what isn't. If you've been applying yourself to goals that no longer suit you or have been pursuing success with methods that aren't appropriate to your current evolutionary state, this eclipse can show you a better way.

Capricorn - It's really important to place yourself in your historical context this week. Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your sign opposes the natal Sun of the reigning world power, the United States of America, and in so doing illuminates the so-called American Way of life, a way that has been adopted in large part by most of the industrialized world. You are the natural builder of the zodiac, and yet what is to be built is at this time in history undergoing a radical transformation. The old ways are crumbling and for someone who needs long-term goals to feel secure, this "power vacuum" can be profoundly destabilizing. On the other hand, evolutionary science has shown us that systems always destabilize prior to making an evolutionary leap. If you choose to seriously examine your life in light of where the world needs to go in order to regain health, harmony and balance, you could well emerge on the forefront of the evolutionary wave that's coming down the pipe. Meditation on Capricorn's totem animal, the mountain goat, can inspire you now. Remember that the mountain goat possesses extraordinary agility and the ability to pick its way up the mountain on precarious paths that more cumbersome creatures would never even consider.

Aquarius - It's time to let go of some beliefs that you consider to be grounded in science or bedrock reality but which are really just guesses about the nature of Life that have acquired a certain gravity through mass acceptance. So often we turn away from the portals that open to the Divine causal realms of reality because we've been taught not to trust anything we can't pick up, measure, fire a bullet or laser beam into, or break down into its component parts. We call this divide-and-conquer mentality "Science" and worship at its altar with all the blind fervor of the most fanatical religious devotees. And yet with each passing era, many of the laws of science are revealed to be inaccurate, incomplete or downright wrong. Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 12th House of the deep unconscious mind opens another series of portals for you into the realms of reality that mainstream science (and mainstream religion, for that matter) refuses to consider simply because its instruments aren't sophisticated enough. But your mind is the most sophisticated instrument known on this planet. So rather than turning away from an influx of information that could really free you into who you were born to be, consider what your dreams, visions, inner voices and synchronistic occurrences are presenting to you. Somewhere in this flood of information is a key that will help you unlock the next level of your vast human potential.

Pisces - The best thing you can do for yourself and the people you love this week is focus on your ideals. For someone as fluid and malleable as you are, you have a surprisingly strong and ambitious vision of what you are here in this world to accomplish. Make this vision your starting point for every decision and interaction now. By now you're used to other people telling you how unrealistic your ideals are, so don't bother wasting your energy on naysayers (both the current ones and the past ones you've internalized as self-doubting inner voices). You may not be able to change a certain person who has been challenging your every step forward over the last year and a half; that's OK, because that's not your job. Your job is to stay focused on your truth and act from that powerful place inside you. Next Tuesday's lunar eclipse in your 11th House of ideals, friends, communities and networks brings a surprising opportunity to take the next step into manifesting your ideals. If you stay focused on what you most long to create in your life you're very likely to find that the burdensome person you've been trying to corral or placate magically experiences the healing he or she needs or else begins to vanish into the background.
